Mary deLaittre, Project Manager
Mary deLaittre is Founder and Principal of Groundwork City Building, a consultancy that brings together various stakeholders and provides expertise to help realize complex city building projects, with a specialty in facilitating and coordinating public/private projects. Mary has practiced both architecture and urban design, working primarily with neighborhoods to develop plans and programs to help them address current and future issues and needs.
Mary has been involved in design education, in a variety if capacities, over the last 10 years, including teaching Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Minnesota\’s College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, founding and directing SiteLines, a 501(c)(3) that conducts research and develops educational materials, programs and events about neighborhood planning and design, and developing SiteSeeing, a curriculum and educational program that teaches students how to see and think critically about the built and natural environment.
Mary has also been involved in a number of special projects related to design and the built environment. She was General Manager of the Design Institute\’s Twin Cities Design Celebration, a year-long series of design education events, she participated in the research and development of Planning to Stay, a handbook about neighborhood development, and produced \”Safety and the Urban Environment,â€ a design competition, symposium and catalogue introducing students to the topic of safety and design. Currently, along with leading Groundwork, Mary continues as Executive Director of SiteLines. Mary received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Brown University and a Masters of Architecture with a concentration in Urban Design from the University of Minnesota.
Janette Law, Media Relations and Community Engagement
Janette Law is the Founder and President of Tableau Productions, LLC, a Minneapolis-based public relations and marketing consultancy. Tableau specializes in helping small businesses and non-profit organizations achieve their business and community development goals through strategic marketing communications along all points of contact with stakeholders. Janette has 15+ years of experience in marketing and public relations, including terms with Maccabee Group PR agency (Minneapolis), The Nature Conservancy and the Walker Art Center, as well as serving as a Contributing Writer for Twin Cities Business magazine. She is a past-president of the Association for Women in Communication-Twin Cities (now Minnesota Women in Marketing Communications) and has received numerous awards for her writing and public relations projects.
Pamela Miller, Graphic Design
Pam Miller is an independent graphic designer with over 25 years of experience creating marketing and collateral materials for a variety of clients. She is an adjunct instructor at Hennepin Technical College, where she teaches The Fundamentals of Graphic Design and Adobe Illustrator. View her portfolio.
Nicole Harrison, Social Media
Nicole Harrison is founder and principal of SocialNicole, a digital strategy and social media consulting practice based in Minneapolis. Social Nicole helps businesses connect, engage and grow through social media and digital strategy. Continuing her desire to â€˜change the world,\’ Nicole also serves her nonprofit peers with a one-of-a-kind Twitter chat: Nonprofit Talk. Proving that the world really does become smaller by leveraging a social network that spans four continents and a half dozen time zones.
Jeff Lin and Andrew Bessler, Website Build and Design
Jeff Lin is Founder and President of Minneapolis-based Bust Out Solutions, a web and mobile development agency. He has over 14 years of experience in the software/web industry and has done everything from data warehouse engineering to user interface design. Andrew started designing websites professionally before “web designer” was a real job title, and has been working with Bust Out Solutions for over 5 years.
